What does it mean to actively erase a group of people from collective memory? An ongoing project that Manal AlDowayan explores through her artworks that deal with inclusion, archiving and research. Her focus is usually on local subjects with global implications. During ACAW She will speak about her project, Crash, that examines the ongoing deaths of Saudi Arabian female teachers over the past 25 years. She will review the implication of experimental spaces that allowed this project to happen and the debates that unfolded once the artworks were shown. Sponsored by ArteEast.
