Manufactured landscapes: Google Earth and David Allee

David Allee often manufactures hybrid environments by overlaying a frame over a cityscape. This view looked familiar, though, so I dove into Google Earth to find the exact location. Turns out South Williamsburg has some pretty stunning views.

Google will also let you change the time in its 3D world, so I tried to find what day the photograph was taken. By matching up the sun's position, it looks like Allee was shooting at 6:30pm on an early March evening.

What an inspiring apartment.
