Spencer Finch's series entitled Shadows (After Atget) uses fluorescent light covered with colored filters that cause the light to function as a reverse prism. The resulting grayish glow emitted by the light tube is meant to simulate the flat, diffuse quality of light seen in Eugene Atget's photographs of Paris in the early 20th century.
