Artist Margaret Zox Brown to Participate in
Art Collection NYC’s ‘East Village Art View’
The group exhibition will run from May 1 to May 30th with an opening reception on May 16th 2018
NEW YORK, NEW YORK - April 23, 2018 - From May 1st to May 30th 2018, Art Collection NYC will present ‘East Village Art View,’ an exhibition with works by various artists creating in and around New York City. Painter Margaret Zox Brown will be showing alongside other notable artists including Greta Watson, Benjamin Casiano, James R. Stover, among more.
Margaret Zox Brown is known for her electric use of color, working with bold earth-tones that reflect her affinity to nature and environment. Her notable relationship to New York City serves as the foundation of her work, both with personal reference and perception of the observed. The figuration present in Zox Brown’s work is always the artist’s focus, while other natural forms – fruit and flora – serve as physical, emotional, and visual sustenance in support of the human figure. In crafting these forms, along with a unique natural palette, Zox Brown seeks the honest expression that can only be found in the raw moments of peace and calm which she captures. Figure and composition, accompanied by vibrant natural hues, allows Zox Brown to create a version of her own world for others to explore.
Margaret Zox Brown’s work has been collected and displayed in several public locations around the city including Danny Meyer’s Maialino in the Gramercy Park Hotel, the Cafe at Fairway Market, and the lobby of the commercial building 462/470 7th Ave.
‘East Village Art View’ will be by appointment only, with the exception of the opening cocktail reception on May 16th from 6-8pm. More details are below.
