In Myanmar, changes abound. Since the dissolution of the military junta in 2011, the country has undergone rapid infrastructural transformation. With cables and pipelines now connecting Myanmar to India, China and Thailand, its artists and cultural workers are poised to make their mark on the Asian art scene. In addition to highlighting some of the country’s more pressing issues, including ongoing ethnic conflict and environmental ravaging, they are tasked with supplementing a lack of supporting institutions, with their own platforms and projects.
