In our September/October issue, contributing writer Mio Iwakiri reviews the retrospective of Li Yuan-chia (1929–94), which took place at the Taipei Fine Arts Museum. The exhibition, which featured over 190 pieces of artwork, provided an in-depth look into the relatively unknown, yet highly substantial practice of the late abstract artist, who had left Taiwan for Europe in the 1960s.
