The significance we place on the decisions made by celebrities from everything to the food they eat to their favourite artists is quite crazy.  From the perspective of an investor, a celebrity can turn a good investment into a super investment; from the perspective of a gallery, a celebrity can make or break an artist in the time it takes to stick a red dot on the wall.  Brad Pitt is one of the most famous and closely watched celebrity art collectors.  A regular at art fairs such as Art Basel and Some of his favourite artists are Banksy, Atelier Van Lieshout and Neo Rauch. In 2009 Pitt famously spent Brad spent a cool $1million for Neo Rauch’s 9-foot rainbow-coloured racetrack painting Etappe.

Pitt has now turned an eye for art into his own line of furniture.  Collaborating with US furniture designer Frank Pollaro, Pitt has developed a high-end collection inspired by both Art Nouveau and Art Deco.  Hopefully his eye for good art will ensure an aesthetically pleasing result for his furniture line.
