Taiwan Art and Gallery Association (TAGA) has once again been selected as a finalist in this year’s Taiwan MICE Awards in the exhibition group A category for 2019 ART TAIPEI, and out of the seventy entries, it has won the gold award in the group. TAGA Chairperson CHUNG Ching Hsin, attended the award ceremony today to receive the accolade.
The Taiwan MICE awards, organized by the Bureau of Foreign Trade under the Ministry of Economic Affairs, are the most prestigious awards for the Taiwanese convention and exhibition circuit. The award system was modified to where a winner is chosen from each of the four major categories (Convention group A and B; Exhibition group A and B) in 2017, and is focused on encouraging convention and exhibition organizers to innovate, raise service quality and implement environmentally friendly measures. This is all in the aim of creating models of excellence for the Taiwanese convention and exhibition sector, so as to enhance the Taiwanese brand image, raise overall competitiveness of the sector, and facilitate economic development in the country.
The Taiwan MICE awards judging panel recognized and offered a high degree of affirmation for ART TAIPEI, given that the exhibition has been held for 26 years straight, has continued to show growth, and demonstrates a high degree of internationalization. The 2019 exhibition facilitated the development of peripheral sectors, where sales figures in the related food, fashion, tourism and hospitality, transport and artwork collection continues to grow from year to year; the economic benefits of the 2019 event on related sectors totaled more than 1.3 billion NTD. The exhibition also had fully embraced and engaged the industry, government, academic and collector sectors, which allowed it to make significant contributions to the Taiwanese economy, art education, and the art market.
Chairperson CHUNG states that ART TAIPEI brings together high quality local and international collectors who have a global perspective, the best of the arts from Northeast to Southeast Asia, and offers a perfect presentation of these aspects using high quality hardware, service and space design. The 27th ART TAIPEI shall be held at Exhibition Hall 1 of Taipei World Trade Center from October 23-26, 2020. The theme this year is“Art for the Next”, a symbol of the current climate, where despite the global coronavirus epidemic, we need to resolve ourselves to have the courage to climb to the top without fearing the obstacles and difficulties, and striving to create perfection. All are cordially invited to 2020 ART TAIPEI, to hold fast to the flame of passion we all have for art, and to participate in this precious art fest that is catching the world’s attention!
