The Material Art Fair celebrates its fifth edition in Mexico City from February 8 to 11, 2018.

Since its debut four years ago, Material has managed to revitalize the most important week for contemporary art in Mexico City and, in many ways, it has become a standard for the emerging and vibrant cultural scene of the city. The emphasis of the fair is on the experiences and, through its intimate scale, sense of community and daring programming, it is now a must for both collectors, curators and artists as well as for the general public.

For its next edition, Material will be presented for the first time in Frontón México, an Art Deco-style sports arena built in 1929 by the architects Teodoro Kinhard and Joaquín Capilla. Abandoned for more than two decades, the Frontón has been restored to its former splendor as part of a massive rehabilitation project in the hands of the National Institute of Fine Arts of Mexico.

Located next to the imposing Monument to the Revolution, the Frontón México is located a few blocks from Expo Reforma, the former venue of the fair, very close to the Paseo de la Reforma, the Historic Center and the Roma, Condesa, Juárez and San Rafael.
