Artsy Editorial seeks a Production Editor to help manage and oversee the daily production of articles. This includes both overseeing text status as well as image and layout status and production. The Production Editor will help ensure that all of our stories are reaching publication in an organized fashion. They will also provide assistance with monitoring and maintaining quality control on all Editorial articles.

Within the company’s mission to make art accessible to anyone with an internet connection, the editorial team’s aim is to tell the stories around art, the art market, creativity and visual culture in a timely, engaging, and educational manner. Our aim is to reach engaged audience, and maintain loyalty at scale.

The Production Editor will fill a unique role on Artsy’s Editorial team. The right candidate will help bridge the gap between our Creative + Visuals processes and our Content processes. Responsibilities will include overseeing and managing deadline coordination and status checks with editors; assist with the daily traffic control of fact-checking, copyediting, and other quality control aspects of our story text; keeping our internal story records updated based on conversations with editors and writers; assisting with and coordinating image outreach deadlines and status with Features Producer; assisting with layout creation; publishing articles including properly tagging and added metadata in our CMS.

In this role, you will have an opportunity to grow into a position where you will oversee the fine details of daily production and operations for a nimble, and quickly growing online media brand. You will also have an opportunity and grow into areas of collaboration and support with our audience development team and learn about how our audiences respond to and engage with our content.

  • Hands on experience with image outreach and securing visual assets
  • Hands on experience working within a CMS and laying out stories
  • At least two years of experience managing  and tracking assets for Editorial production;
  • At least two years of experience handling and overseeing copy edits for Editorial content;
  • Proven ability to lead, teach and manage others;
  • Displays clear passion and interest in bigger-picture planning, due diligence, and direction for operations and quality control
