We are seeking an experienced Senior Product Designer to join our Design team. At Artsy, we are a collaborative and supportive team of designers that are driven by learning, strong design fundamentals, strategic thinking informed by research, and delivering meaningful value. As a Senior Product Designer your role will be to shape and elevate our customer experience. You’ll need to employ big-picture problem solving, user-centered holistic thinking and outstanding design craft skills to deliver value and delight for Artsy’s customer base. You’ll be creating engaging, frictionless UX&D solutions for empowering collectors to discover new artists, stay up-to-date with the artists they collect, and grow their art collection purposefully.

You will be part of the Product Design team. This team is embedded within a multidisciplinary Product group. Every product designer collaborates closely with Product, Data, and Engineering on their product teams to research, ship iteratively, shape the roadmap, and set a collective vision.

What You’ll Do:

  • Lead product design projects across the entire lifecycle and multiple product launches
  • Provide design thinking and leadership to help shape a vision for user experience on cross-functional product teams, joining the dots between projects to deliver a holistic user experience.
  • Help the team discover potential design routes by creating multiple concepts, design artifacts and prototypes that lead to a premium experience for our collectors.
  • Support the team's work and coach less-experienced design team members.
  • Use qualitative and quantitative data to identify important product insights and identify opportunities to collect feedback to make informed choices
  • Strengthen cross-collaborative relationships between Design and other disciplines inviting input and creating visibility into processes and work to build an understanding and shared knowledge of how customers interact with products.
  • Facilitate group conversations and workshops to help uncover opportunities and generate ideas.
  • Be autonomous. You’ll take full ownership of your work, and take responsibility for every last detail.

Who You Are:

  • You are currently authorized to live and work in the US or UK.
  • This role will be based in New York City or London.
  • 5+ years of product design experience (full end-to-end product development) in a luxury market, agency, or similar. You bring mentoring experience and have a track record supporting junior and mid-level designers
  • You have a strong portfolio rooted in digital visual design and product design; spanning across a wide range of channels
  • You are fluent in translating user insights and data into tangible customer centric solutions across app and web platforms
  • You posses strong design fundamentals including: typography, composition, and strong visual design sensibility
  • Ability to work cross-collaboratively, build empathy with others, and focus on common goals.
  • Experience collaborating with designers and engineers on a shared design system, and understand how to scale that system successfully.
  • Experience shipping products and iterating towards improvement; while fostering a passionate curiosity to better understand the users.
  • Ability to collaborate with product managers to shape roadmaps through strategic decision making and user experience.
  • Experience with a global marketplace and luxury e-commerce
  • Understanding and experience in Service Design, how technical systems and internal workflows impact the user experience
  • Degree in design, graphic design, fine arts, or equivalent on the job experience
