How to Buy Art for Your Space, Budget, and Style
If you are looking for a blue sculpture from a London gallery, a collage made in the 1970s, or a landscape painting under $5,000, how do you find it?
You can conduct these searches and more by browsing the Artworks page on Artsy’s website. In minutes, you can sort through over 500,000 available artworks from across the world to buy pieces that match your space, budget, and style.
Browse by Price
To start, you might want to narrow down by price—you can set your target price range by moving the scale on the top left corner of the page. When browsing, you can also sort the results by “Least Expensive” or “Most Expensive” to guide your search.
Pick Your Category
Next, you can specify an artistic medium (such as painting, photography, or design) and the artwork’s subject matter or style (such as abstract, still life, or minimalist) to discover pieces that match your aesthetic. With over 100 categories to explore—from light art sculptures to geometric prints—it’s easy to find what you are looking for.
Select Sizes and Colors
You can also browse by artwork dimensions to locate works that fit your specific space. When you do, keep in mind that matting and framing will increase the overall size of the artwork.
Then, browse artwork by color, from dark blue to black and white. (Interestingly, you’ll find that orange is the most popular color for artworks on the site.)
Choose Gallery Location
You can even select a gallery location to narrow down by artworks in a specific place. Buying from local galleries will give you the opportunity to see works in person before making a purchase—and will also help you save money on shipping costs.
Once you find a work you want, you can click “Contact Gallery” to make the purchase. For more tips on messaging galleries, read on here. If you have any questions along the way, you can contact our team of specialists at [email protected].
