Hiroshi Yanagi Oriental Art, unveiling "Japanese Art Highlights" at 1016 Madison Avenue is bringing an especially exquisite object from Japan. Made of cypress and measuring 9 inches tall, it is a standing Amida Nyorai thatdates from  the 13th century, a time during the Kamakura Period known for a new realism in the artistic portrayals of divinities.
