Long March Space: Qiu Zhijie

Although inclined to work in various types of media, Qui Zhijie routinely returns to a traditional method of his Chinese heritage—ink and brush painting. Through contemporary modification, however, he manipulates the medium, both in practice and in subject matter. Combining the old with new, Qiu at once recalls the philosophy of the East Asian literati and the spirit of the avant-garde.
