As an artist, I hope to create work that gives the viewer a new perspective on the world around them.

Since childhood I have been collecting matchboxes and army buttons, storing them, putting them in boxes, counting them, looking at them and rearranging them. These objects are not simply ‘found’, they each have a significance that informs how I manipulate them into different constructs.

This work is about manipulating space in order to challenge perspectives. The layering, the dimensionality of the piece and the impossibilities of the design make the piece more of a journey, a perspective that is at once static and moving. The drawers have within them objects that may conjure feelings of preciousness or specific memories, which challenge the notion of time. The objects and the arrangement, communicate a new form, perhaps a new architecture of time that is defined by a new edge.
