Another Great Art Book Fair, Thank You Printed Matter
This weekend was Printed Matter's 8th annual Art Book Fair. For those of you who remember last year's, this year had some improvements and some disappointments as well.
The improvements were, more fun music and dancing, more organized, more countries represented (or at least I felt), and overall a feeling of much more sophistication than last year.
Marlborough did an amazing project by selling old catalogues from the 60s, 70s, and 80s.
One of the most memorable exhibitors for me personally this year was Bureau for Open Culture.
One thing that was slightly disappointing was vendors this year had much less "swag", I missed all the creative totes and teeshirts from last year. But I guess the focus is really on the books. I did however, get one awesome tote from emerging gallerist M23, who was there pushing the book release of Timothy Nazzaro's new book at the Chelsea Hotel.
