PR ENG - BREEZY X COGNITIVE AWARENESS

"Cognitive Awareness" is an invitation to reflect on the complex relationship between man and technology, specifically on the relationship between technology and the human body, considering various points of view such as identity, the imagination of new realities and the creation of new worlds, fluidity, through the attentive look of those who first know how to grasp and intercept the future: the artists.

The exhibition, which will be inaugurated in Rome on April 22nd at the Ex Cartiera Latina on the prestigious Via Appia Antica, was created in collaboration with the artist Alessandro Risuleo and represents a new chapter in the path shared with Breezy, which began last October with "Cognitive Awareness - The Beginning".

"Cognitive Awareness" speaks the language of our time, ranging between NFT, Virtual Reality, Augmented Reality, Artificial Intelligence and Digital Photography, but without forgetting the indissoluble connection that remains between technology and human being, told through works of art and live performances.

The intent is not only to address directly to the viewer to stimulate an active and conscious involvement in front of the new tools that animate the work of the artist today, but especially to explore together new synergies, new reality, new identity or at least new manifestations of it.

The exhibition includes the works of 10 artists from all over the world curated by Eleonora Brizi (Breezy), plus others from the Italian scene, who tell their personal approach to finding their own space and identity within the "new world".

"While Hackatao put us in front of our mutable essence as avatars in the metaverse in constant search of ourselves, Skygolpe offers us a "non-portrait portrait", in the disorientation of the hybridity between physical and digital. Mbsjq invents an entirely new character, an astronaut who narrates his art; Reinhard Schmid fuses female and male spirits in poetic human figures with mechanical elements; while Undeadlu tries his hand at the coexistence of human and cyborg. Travis LeRoy Southworth uses the imperfections of the faces, of the skin, "Photoshopped" from the photographs of the models to render them in new harmonious compositions; Giant Swan dances to sculpt in virtual reality creating new bodies and using his own for the whole act of creation. Ben Snell has always dialogued with algorithms considering the points of contact between human and machine and Ania and Dejha invent a trench coat to be worn with pockets covered in military fabric to keep wireless devices offline". Finally, Alessandro Risuleo, who came up with the idea to conceive this exhibition, with his photographs and augmented reality was the inspiration for the entire concept addressed for Cognitive Awareness", explains the art curator Eleonora Brizi.

And this is how Alessandro Risuleo talks about his works: "Are we aware of it or are we in a sort of unconsciousness managed by the will of technology? Artificial intelligence surrounds us and already controls or directs our decisions and actions. We are at the center of a virtual pedestal and it is only we who must regain awareness of our free will."

In addition to the physical exhibition, through the immersive experience offered by Virtual and Augmented Reality thanks to the Spatial and Over The Reality platforms, we are invited to move in space, interact with the artworks, see them come to life to "touch" the beauty.

And finally the live performance with dance and music, in Rome, and simultaneously in the metaverse Over The Reality with an AVATAR that will move through a sensory suit worn by a dancer.

A journey through awareness that will be accompanied by a series of meetings organized within "Cognitive Awareness", including round tables and debates in which the various institutional partners who supported the event will take part.

"When we open up to the idea of the encounter of the human creative flow with that of algorithms and technology, we are given the opportunity to explore new worlds and synergies that had not been possible before. Who are we now? Who have we been so far? Who will we be?" Eleonora Brizi.
