Newly released paintings from the Sargy Mann estate
Cadogan Contemporary is delighted to present a small collection of wonderful paintings by Sargy Mann. These paintings have never been shown before and have only recently been released for sale by the Sargy Mann estate.
All of these pictures were all painted between the late 1960's and the early 80's and show in an extraordinary way the connection between Sargy's early paintings when much of his sight was still available to him and his late paintings when he was entirely blind.
Sargy Mann (29 May 1937 – 5 April 2015) was a British Painter and one of the most extraordinary artists of recent time. Both a landscape and figurative painter, his diverse works are recognisable by their bright colour scheme and focus on light. Although deeply influenced by Cezanne and Bonnard his paintings attain a remarkable originality. Mann was undeterred by his failing vision and continued finding new ways of seeing, even through his final complete blindness.
