Modern, Arresting Women

Nov 18, 2013 6:40PM

In conjunction with the current exhibition at the Museum of Modern Art in New York entitled, American Modern: Hopper to O’Keeffe, comes a thought-provoking lecture exploring the work of key female artists.

“Arrestingly Female” will look at how artists such as Imogen Cunningham, Georgia O’Keeffe and Florine Stettheimer have influenced art and popular culture over the past few decades. In addition to the importance of their work, this talk will investigate how gender shaped American art.

For more on these groundbreaking female artists: Imogen Cunningham makes an appearance in our upcoming holiday sale, while Georgia O’Keeffe can be found in our American Art auction this December at our New York location.

“Arrestingly Female” will take place on November 20 at 11:30 am at MoMA.
