This month, Christie’s presents the first-ever auction of vintage gelatin silver prints by photographer and filmmaker Norman Seeff. Today Vanity Fair ran exclusive comments from Seeff about these intimate photos from the '60s and '70s, which include a contact sheet of Patti Smith and Robert Mapplethorpe at home in Brooklyn in 1969, as well as a haunting photograph of Jodi Foster at the tender age of 13, after she starred in Taxi Driver.

“Photographs by Norman Seeff: The Lost Archive” runs from 27 September - 9 October 2013.
