Qureshi Creates a Dialogue Between the US and Islam

Imran Qureshi's witty and socially-aware work Moderate Enlightenment comments on the relationship between the US and the Islamic world. Married to the equally talented, Aisha Khalid, Qureshi is a leading figure on the contemporary Pakistani art scene. 

The modern sense of play and sublimated meaning, may come from Qureshi's former work in puppet theater. No stranger to parody, a close read of this bearded-man building his strength is set against a palette of red, white and blue, deliberately referencing the American flag.
