Warhol Wednesdays

Oct 16, 2013 9:15PM

Yasumasa Morimura, the always intriguing Japanese artist, recently took the seventh floor of The Andy Warhol Museum by storm. Inspired by the late and great Pop artist, Morimura has created a playful exhibition consisting of pictures and video works featuring him in drag as well-known American pop culture figures.

Similar to Andy, some of Morimura’s most fabulous works are of actresses; at the museum, viewers will see the Japanese artist’s unique take on Audrey Hepburn, Liz Taylor, and Marilyn Monroe, of course. “Theater of the Self” is on view until January 12, 2014 at The Andy Warhol Museum in Pittsburgh, PA.
