iPad interface

When I look at a list of paintings and try to scroll down it returns to top of page and changes paintings.  No buttons were hit to my knowledge and I have little trouble with any other pages. Is there slideshow option I can turn off? There is no way to look at hundreds of paintings in just few seconds.
