Linda Pochesci paints the poetry of light and space in her airy interiors. Painted in a highly realistic manner, these interior images of her studio and living quarters are nevertheless surreal images that confound careful scrutiny. Studio images opening onto dunes are fabricated from the artist’s imagination as are the studio interiors containing mirrors reflecting spaces outside the visible space. Pochesci’s unique way of looking at the world was shaped by her early experiences as a child accompanying her father to construction sites on weekends. These half finished buildings enabled her to see the elemental components of a building as well as vistas onto the landscape framed by open windows and doors. These experiences continue to play an important role in her work.

Linda Pochesci recently moved back to Boston where she has spent each summer painting on the Cape. She received her MFA from Massachusetts College of Art and a BA in Art Education from Montclair State College. She has been included in numerous one person and group exhibitions and is represented in many private and corporate collections.
