Robert Rouchenberg said “I think a painting is more like the real world if it’s made out of the real world,”. The same can be said for people.

Illumination is an exhibition commenting on the the transparency of humanity, focusing on the idea that the "real world" is different for every person. Environments, technology and individual awareness are what make up each and every interpretation of reality.

These works calls attention to the part of the population that is overly concerned with social media, wealth, and physical perfection. The truth is the real world is not as idealized as we make it, and the depth of a person can only truly be discovered through character. Reality is not an idea, it is a life lived to the fullest through human interaction, and a oneness with the earth. Through positivity and love the real world becomes illuminated and beautiful.

I think a person is more like the real world if they are made out of the real world.
