Galleries Association of Korea, an organization of nationwide galleries, was founded in 1976 with a view to the popularization of art and to the global advancement of artistic culture. It was registered as a social organization of the Ministry of Culture and Information in 1979. By being promoted to a corporation in 1991, its social obligation has been strengthened.
