Corkin Gallery Attends Lima Photo 2013

Corkin Gallery is participating for the first time Lima Photo, an international photography fair held from August 7-11at the Centro de la Imagen in Lima, Peru.

Twenty-eight galleries from ten countries are exhibiting work at the 2013 fair. Corkin Gallery is the only Canadian exhibitor.

Corkin Gallery’s contemporary artist platform includes Ramon Serrano, Frank Madler, Thaddeus Holownia, Gabriel Thompson, Barbara Astman, Nan Goldin and Sharon Switzer. Corkin Gallery is also presenting a number of photographs from the last century, including works by Eugene Atget, Andre Kertész, Irving Penn and Harold Edgerton.

Lima Photo is holding an extensive program of panel discussions by international gallerists, curators and artists. Jane Corkin discusses collecting contemporary art photography with art critic and curator, Jorge Villacorta on Friday August 9th at 6 pm at the Centro de la Imagen.  

Lima Photo is also the forum for Peru’s most important contemporary photographic award, the Repsol Prize, which awards $35,000 and $15,000 to two artists, and acquires their works in the prestigious Repsol Collection of Contemporary Photography.
