The House of Ruinart and Cosmoscow International Contemporary Art Fair announce the launch of the annual Ruinart Art Patronat Award Contest in the field of contemporary art. This year the House of Ruinart, well known for its close ties with the world of art, presents program aimed at providing support and development for Russian artists. The contest will be a part of the 5th anniversary edition of the Cosmoscow Fair, and will be held from September 8 to 10 in Gostiny Dvor. The winner will be announced on September 11, 2017.

The long list of the competition will include contemporary Russian artists, nominated by Cosmoscow 2017 exhibitors. Each of the selected artists will present their site-specific project proposal for the House of Ruinart in Cosmoscow Art Fair 2018.

The jury consists of Margarita Pushkina, Founding Director of Cosmoscow International Contemporary Art Fair; Jean Christophe Laizeau, Ruinart Communications Director; Alexei Maslyaev, Cosmoscow Non-Commercial Programme Curator; Vasili Tsereteli, Moscow Museum of Modern Art Executive Director; Alistair Hicks, internationally acclaimed contemporary art expert. The judges will determine the winner, who will receive an Award from Ruinart – trip to The House of Ruinart (France) and a project grant for execution of a proposed site-specific art project.

"Such projects always attract special attention and act as a common ground for promoting Russian contemporary art. Moreover, this is another opportunity to draw attention to the work of artists with whom Russian galleries participating in the fair cooperate. For artists this is primarily a chance to execute their project, " – says Margarita Pushkina, Founding Director of Cosmoscow International Contemporary Art Fair.

Ruinart is a permanent patron of contemporary Russian art. In 2015 The House established special prize of the art fund "Moscow Biennale", which was awarded to a young artist Taus Makhacheva. "Ruinart's mission is to support individual talents and art in general. Modern art scene in Russia is one of the leading in the world, it is an honor for us to become a part of it", – says Jean Christophe Laizeau, Ruinart Communications Director.
