Cultural Avenue
Cultural Avenue is an agency formed to stimulate a discourse around contemporary culture, initiated by Johanna Stemmler and Friedrich Gräfling in 2013.
Cultural Avenue is based on an
understanding that culture is defined by a descriptive as well as normative
application. It defines the Zeitgeist of an era through its fulfilling demands.
Culture commences once society succeeds in not only observing people and their
surrounding but rather in beginning to document the processes, forms and
perspectives of those observations in a thorough and active manner. Culture
acts as a scientific, philosophical-anthropological generator and triggers people
to creatively engage with their environment.
Under these premises, Cultural Avenue
has been developed to reflect our understanding of contemporary culture and become an
active associate thereof, acting on different levels:
