From Basel with Love

Willkommen to Basel! While the week is getting off to a wet start, we couldn’t think of a better place to take refuge than inside Design Miami’s sparkling new hall. With lots more room to spread out, the galleries have the chance to show even more of their prized possessions. And, according to some early reports, there’s been more than coveting happening during the fair’s first minutes today. 

The woman of the hour, Marianne Goebl, looked calm as usual. When I asked her how she felt (just an hour into the show’s Collector’s Preview) she said: ”At this moment I feel like I’ve handed it over. And now it’s up to them.” If that’s the case, then Goebl has left the show in good hands.
