August 11, 2014: MOCA North Miami Announces Move, a Review of the Winogrand Retrospective, and William Harnett’s Birthday

The Museum of Contemporary Art in North Miami announced its plans to rename the museum the Institute of Contemporary Art and move to a temporary space in November in Miami’s Design District, reported the Miami Herald.
A bronze sculpture by Henry Moore was unveiled in King’s Cross Station in London. According to The Guardian, the sculpture was selected because it reflects the architecture of the station, is impossible to sit on, and extremely difficult to climb.
The American Ballet Theatre is donating its archives to the Library of Congress, which will be exhibited in “American Ballet Theatre: Touring the Globe for 75 Years” opening in Washington this Thursday, August 14.

William Michael Harnett, an Irish-American still-life painter was born on August 10, 1848.
