German artist Christian Jankowski has been named chief curator of Manifesta 11, which will take place in Zurich in 2016 and will mark the first time an individual artist serves as curator for the biennial. (via Artforum)

The New Museum has announced the artists who will participate in their 2015 Triennial, set to open in February and co-curated by New Museum curator Lauren Cornell and artist Ryan Trecartin. Among the list of artists are Nadim Abbas, Ed Atkins, Shadi Habib Allah, Lena Henke, Kiluanji Kia Henda, Josh Kline, Eva Kotátkóva, Oliver Laric, Basim Magdy, and Daniel Steegmann Mangrané. The Massachusetts Museum of Contemporary Art has announced six new long-term partnerships with major contemporary artists and organizations, among them the Robert Rauschenberg Foundation; the Easton Foundation, which controls Louise Bourgeois’s estate; James Turrell; Laurie Anderson; and Jenny Holzer. The artists’ work will occupy some 90,000 square feet of the museum’s soon-to-be expanded space, which will open in 2017 and put Mass MoCA on the list of the country’s largest art museums. Don Bacigalupi, founding director and current president of the Alice Walton’s Crystal Bridges Museum of American Art, will leave the northwest Arkansas museum in early 2015 to become the founding director for Chicago’s Lucas Museum of Narrative Art. (via ARTnews)
