Armand Albert Rateau

A couple of weeks ago, I wrote here a piece on a collection of furniture by French designer Armand Albert Rateau, which will be offered for sale by Christie's next month.

Here is a video, which tells the story of one of the most magical, poetic, and private interiors of the 20th century for which this set of furniture was created. The legendary interior was commissioned by the 17th Duke of Alba, for the apartment of his new wife, 9 the stylish Duchess of Alba on the occasion of their marriage in 1920.
