In the lecture on contemporary design yesterday, I have noted the work of Vincent Dubourg, as representing a new expression in the movement of poetic design. His sculptural furniture creates nostalgic allusions to the past, a past known to all of us, anywhere on the globe. Traditional methods of cabinetmaking are being revisited and manipulated in order to present the familiar, and to attain design with emotional stimulation. In his poetic pieces,. Dubourg deconstructs forms, but in a totally new way and one that departs from the discourse of other deconstructivits.
