In Latin, tessera refers to a cube-shaped tile used to make mosaics, and in Greek it means the number four. In this case, Baroud’s walnut table is made of 4 cm cubes. Though reliant on modularity, the pieces are more flexible than a mosaic and the table allows for custom assemblage.
