Exhibition of High School Scholarship Winners
Since 1999 the Dedalus Foundation has been giving scholarships to graduating seniors from New York City public high schools who plan to attend college and have shown excellence in fine art or art history. This year, for the first time, the work of these students will be exhibited at Industry City in Brooklyn. In each of the two categories, submissions were judged by a panel composed of representatives from the Brooklyn Museum, the Museum of Modern Art, the Museum of Art and Design, the School Art League, and the New York City Department of Education.
The exhibition will feature a selection of the fine art students' works along with Powerpoint screenings of the research projects of the art history students. It will be open to the public from Friday through Sunday over the course of three weekends: June 7-9, June 14-16, and June 21-23. The gallery is located at 220 36th Street in the Sunset Park neighborhood of Brooklyn and is easily accessible via the R and D subway trains. It will be open from 3:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. on Fridays and 12:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. on Saturdays and Sundays.
