Demisch Danant

May 1st – July 13th 2013/ New York, NY USA

Demisch Danant opened an exhibition appropriately titled Secret Garden featuring a dozen new pieces by Maria Pergay, each displaying meticulous, jewelry-like handwork in bronze and patinated copper. Known for her legendary use of stainless steel, Pergay makes an exciting departure for the exhibition that features a Bronze Tree, a sculptural fixture more than six feet tall, and the Frozen Bush Table, made from nickeled bronze and glass. Demisch Danant celebrates the 45th anniversary of Pergay’s groundbreaking exhibition of stainless steel at Galerie Maison et Jardin in May of 1968.
