Sergey Sapozhnikov is an artist, a photographer and a curator from Rostov-on-don, Russia, living and working in a post-industrial region where the detritus of failed infrastructure, and the natural landscape, have fused as one. Sergey Sapozhnikov offers his personal commentary by reclaiming these discarded items and machinery. His large photographic prints become monumental masterpieces, praising the feelings of uncertainty, doubt, and the unknown.
Sergey was born in Rostov-on-Don in 1984. In 2008 he graduated from Southern Federal University majoring in Psychology and in 2009 – from the Institute of Contemporary Art.
Sergey currently lives and works in Rostov-on-Don and Moscow, Russia.
