From within a light-proof tent and aided by periscope-type optics, beloved illusionist Abelardo Morell captures the nearby landscape via a view camera that projects the image onto the surface of the ground. The result he calls “a rather wonderful sandwich of two outdoor realities coming together”—an outcome not easily reached, but worthy of his efforts.
