Art.sy Insight: Ted Noten's Purse of Wonders

According to Atelier Ted Noten, the designer’s Seven Necessities: Purse of Wonders grew out of a desire for a woman to “‘be her own man’ without forfeiting her femininity.” The purse offers a reworking of traditional items carried by women, including a Beauty Mask, containing “Botox to shape the face of the wearer;” a “contemporary take” on a Chatelaine; a Chastity Belt; sperm whale oil, containing anti-wrinkling properties; and Glasses for a Woman on the Warpath, quizzical eyebrow included. Noten says he has “a great love for small items, people’s behaviour, [especially] when they are obsessive and surrounded with a great passion and love...”
