Oliver Laric and the Multiverse

Oliver Laric’s 3D renderings, like this bust of Sun Tzu (author of the legendary book on military strategy, The Art of War), raise issues of authenticity in digital culture through repetition and reinterpretation. In this work, Laric reinvents Sun Tzu as the two-faced Roman god, Janus. “I’m fascinated by recursion, repetition, and reinterpretations,” Laric said. “The tendency to pluralize helps me with concepts such as the Multiverse or the originals.”
