1. Liam Everett creates mixed-media paintings and sculptures. Concerned with process and gesture he often leaves traces of his movements and the labor-intensive practices he employs to alter his canvases.

2. He was shortlisted for the 2012 SFMOMA SECA award, he won the Fellowship Award from Headlands Center For the Arts, and he was Artist-in-Residence at Vermont Studio Center, Ateliers de la Ville, Künstler Haus Bremen, and Astérides, Ateliers d’Artistes, Marseille.

3. British art critic and writer Jonathan Griffin said in Frieze magazine in 2012, “Liam Everett’s art stands, first and foremost, as testament to the processes of its making. In spite of their rich optical pleasures, his art works claim a solemn dignity as battered survivors of previous punishments. It is fun to imagine just what these wild, intense forces might have entailed.”

Find Everett’s work in the TWO x TWO for AIDS and Art auction, 2013.
