Olek's Crocheted Compulsion

Street artist Olek has been covering bicycles, cars and everyday objects in yarn through her distinctive rainbow of crocheted colours.  Her works can be frequently spotted throughout New York and always cause a flurry of Instagrams.

What impresses me is the childlike quality with which she imbues every piece –  every time I see another one of her creations, I am still overcome with a childlike wonder and fascination with the newly revealed object.  Making passerby viewers aware of the most mundane and adding a Joie de Vivre to the gritty streets, Olek succeeds in brightening the city.  She was one of the artists chosen for #TransformToday project Absolut hosted in Williamsburg last weekend.
