Stripes for Spring

Groundhog Day is so outdated.  New Yorkers have found several other indicators which herald the coming of the new season: the sudden ability to navigate midtown without a swarm of tourists,  70% off outerwear at Bergdorfs and stripes

Stripes are a signal that spring is in the air for art and fashion alike. This season, the lines are doubled, with Daniel Buren shows taking over both Bortolami and Petzel galleries and Marc Jacobs for Louis Vuitton SS13 collection all about them. In fact, Louis Vuitton drew so much inspiration from the French conceptual artist that he asked him to design the set of the runway show.  Though the delineation between art and fashion may not be apparent, the stripes are.
