I was first introduced to Tomokazu Matsuyama's work last year at Josua Liner Gallery. It was love at first site. The precision to his mark-making and his amalgam of Eastern and Western influences left me salivating over the paintings that I encountered.

This past Winter, we spoke with Tomokazu about creating a piece for the AOL Collection. We provided simple direction - create a piece floating in white space that is representative of your body of work. With that, we received Pink Rain - a piece with such depth, movement, and approachability. It was a true pleasure to introduce the AOL audience to his work.
