Were David Smith and Eugene Martin separated at birth?

Do these 1975 sculptural drawings by Eugene Martin (Figs 2, 3) created with a felt tip pen not have the same rhythm, flow and energy of David Smith's 1950 sculpture Song of the Landscape (Fig. 1)?
