Hunter Thompson for Sheriff

Hunter S. Thompson, author of Hell's Angels and Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas, ran for Pitkin County sheriff in 1970.     Thompson collaborated with the artist Thomas W. Benton to create numerous political posters, including the famous double-thumbed fist with the peyote button in the center.
