On May 5, 1972, Thomas W. Benton printed a limited addition of 20 of the "Wanted for Murder - America" posters to send to persons he felt were responsible for the Vietnam War- starting with President Nixon (who also got the "Fourth Reich" poster). Nixon never acknowledged receipt of the poster, but Benton got a note from Colorado Senator Peter Dominick's office saying that he had received the poster and did not agree with the artist's point of view.
