Jon Kessler's The Web
Today is the last day to see Jon Kessler's knock-out exhibition The Web at the Swiss Institute.
Commissioned by Métamatic Research Initiative in Amsterdam, The Web is a strange makeshift labyrinth of video screens, recording cameras, advertisements for Apple products, and three animatronic mannequins playing on iPads (who bare a striking resemblance to the Unabomber Ted Kaczynski). In the center of the sensorial spectacle is a merry-go-round like device with pictures of happy consumers using various electronic devices.
The best part: Kessler designed an app for visitors that feeds any images taken on the device's camera to the screens in the installation.
On a side note: You can view pieces from Kessler's 2009 animal print series on artsy.net
