Light and Water

I love the subtle exploration of basic elements put into play by these four works. 

They gaze at the physical world with directness and wonder, without any self-righteous filter or over-zealous claims. 

For me, this has a lot to do with why art is important. At its best, it helps instruct us in the act of close looking: whatever the subject, whatever the scale.
